A sad day

While this doesn’t necessarily fit ‘fantasy’, it does, as it concerns my attendance to GenCon this year.  Ever since I first attended 3 years ago, I have wanted to make it to True Dungeon.  I signed up early, bought my tickets early, and have just waited on the arrival of GenCon’s notice that the event registration was about to  begin.  I kept my eyes peeled to my e-mail box, waiting…

Today, I decided to wipe out some useless clutter that is my e-mail and there it was, sent out April 19, telling me that if I wanted to register for True Dungeon, I better get my tickets early, as the event registration was opening the next morning.  I am shattered.  True Dungeon has already sold out.

*is heartbroken*

Perhaps next year – my 5th in attendance – I might get my chance to experience TD.

Why has this blog come about (when I have countless others)? Simply because I desire a place to write fantasy, and have fantasy-dealings.  This won’t necessarily be a daily blog (ha, which of mine are?), but a place to contemplate ideas I’ve come across from my writings or readings.

Currently I am in the middle of reading some of JRR Tolkien’s works and am very much enamored with them.  I decided to find an Elven name and chose one that stems from my True name.  I am pleased.

I am now about to start reading “Quenta Silmarillion”.  I have heard it is a tough read, but I believe I am up to the task.
